OMD² - Open MusicTech Database for Discoverability

OMD² aims to serve as a bridge, connecting stakeholders and fostering synergies. The database will highlight the practical results of the work of European musictech entrepreneurs, in all their diversity, and connect it with the musicians, managers, live music professionals, and music export offices who can implement these solutions to boost their music export needs and add a higher value to their work.

Music Tech Hub (MTH), with the support of LIVEMX and as a project co-funded by the European Union, is developing the first European Open MusicTech Database for Discoverability (OMD2), creating an accessible and comprehensive common digital platform of existing European musictech solutions, covering all needs for music export, as gig management, marketing, promotional, booking, data access and networking.

 

OMD² aims to serve as a bridge, connecting stakeholders and fostering synergies. The database will highlight the practical results of the work of European musictech entrepreneurs, in all their diversity, and connect it with the musicians, managers, live music professionals, and music export offices who can implement these solutions to boost their music export needs and add a higher value to their work.

  1. Enhance cross-border co-creation and business development opportunities.
  2. Facilitate the promotion of new music and artists abroad.
  3. Support the knowledge-sharing capacity amongst local, regional and European professional networks.

Main actions

  1. Organize and participate in roundtables and panels at prominent European musictech events -Sónar, MaMA, Linecheck, etc.
  2. Conduct Seminars for Digital Upskilling, emphasizing digital skill enhancement and hands-on experimentation. These will feature interactions (i.e. demos) between entrepreneurs and musicians, managers, record labels, etc.
  3. Showcase the project and contextualize our findings at key conferences, engaging the music industry and educating professionals about the innovations shaping the sector.

Collaboration

MTH is an active member of Music Tech Europe and will collaborate with the existing musictech European hubs across the continent, collecting input from music industry professionals and unifying this information into a single open database.
